I would be glad to help someone new to homeschooling. I'm a certified NJ public school teacher, belong to many homeschool groups and one homeschool co-op, and have been homeschooling for 4 years. My daughter went to public school until 5th grade. I have a good idea of high school proficiency requirements since I am certified K-12 and currently homeschool my 9th grade daughter and have my other daughter in public high school. Kris I am the mother of three children who were all homeschooled for up to or through High School. Brian my oldest was homeschooled from Kindergarten (or as we like to say, from birth) until he went to Penn State, where he is now a sophmore. Our middle child, Hillary is finishing her homeschooling education and will be employed full time in the job she has had for several years starting in the Fall. She is taking community college courses one at a time but has elected not to attend college full time at this point in her life. Our youngest child, Joshua was homeschooled until two years ago when he decided to attend a performing arts program offered at Gloucester County Institute of Technology, where he is doing very well. So I have lots of experience in homeschooling through different stages. My children have all been involved with the Home School Band Program, lots of community theater and various other Home School activities through the years. I am one of the origianal members of the PACT group. I have been a contact for homeschoolers for many years and since I have heard the same questions and repeated the same information so may times I decided to start a blog to give ideas and insight from my experience. Check it out and come back as it grows wto learn about many topics in homeschooling. Karen (Karen's Homeschooling Blog)
